This Drills and Training Logbook provides a consolidated record of statutory and shipboard drills, training sessions, muster practices, security exercises, emergency preparedness activities, and pollution-response exercises carried out on board, together with participation, outcomes, deficiencies identified, and corrective follow-up actions taken.
Systematic use of this Drills and Training Logbook enables the Master and responsible officers to:
- Demonstrate compliance with SOLAS Chapter III drill and training requirements during port state control inspections, flag state surveys, and classification society audits.
- Evidence that the ship's emergency preparedness programmes under ISM Code Section 8 are being implemented, practised, and maintained.
- Trace deficiencies identified during drills through to corrective action and verification, supporting the continuous improvement cycle required by ISM Code Section 9.
- Provide a consolidated, auditable record that satisfies multiple convention and code recordkeeping obligations in a single logbook, reducing duplication and supporting efficient inspection.
